Guided tour with Electric Bike » Athens Alltime – ride with electric bike 34 €
From our shop we enter the magical “Historical Centre of Athens”, passing by the famous Acropolis Museum. Pedalling on one of the oldest European streets, now a promenade, we meet the Herodion Theatre just at the foothill of Acropolis.
We continue at a picturesque street around the glorious rock of Acropolis, riding our e-bikes under Anafiotika, a Cycladic Island like, small neighbourhood at the North-East of Acropolis. A pedal away we reach the Roman Market before we enter a non-asphalt street that drives us along the South side of Ancient Agora, overlooking the rebuilt Stoa of Attalos and the magnificent Temple of Hephaestus.
At an easy pace we cross Thission, the most privileged leisure district as all the cafes located there, are viewing the Acropolis rock. Further on we reach the most West point of our tour, on top of a bridge overlooking Kerameikos and the district of Gazi, an early industrial building that became a landmark and is one of the top nightlife Athens districts.
Moving Eastwards, we enter the ancient city once again by crossing a very old merchant area, around Monastiraki sqr. – with a surprise stop – before we enter the legendary neighbourhood of Psirri, a well preserved area of the mid 19th century, at which we’ll experience a traditional greek coffee break.
We continue our journey to recent city’s structure, starting with Kotzia sqr. that accommodates some of the most emblematic buildings as well as the Town-hall. From there we enter the modern city’s commercial area and we uncover the symbol of Athens’ recent political history, the Parliament (Vouli) and the Syntagma sqr.
Leaving the tsoliades (Presidential Guards) and some of the oldest hotels behind us, we move next to the stylish Kolonaki district, well known for haute couture shopping brands and its cafe square, before we meet a triumph building, the Panathinaiko Stadium, world heritage for games and the modern finish line of the Athens Marathon Race.
After having a cool stop at city’s most emblematic park, the National Garden, we dive again into legendary areas, viewing the Athenian christianity emblems of Cathedral and other significant – and very old – churches. We then proceed to Ermou shopping boulevard and continue a little further, to the main tourist shopping streets, full of souvenirs and more.
Last, but not least, part of the tour is Plaka district. One of the oldest part of Athens, with the most picturesque alleys and houses. Scrolling there, is a trip to all city’s history as we meet Museums, the Public Bath Museum, private collections, relics of ancient, Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman times. We’ll also mark traditional taverns, cafe and leisure shops.
